CLASSICAL GUITAR MAKING

Benito Huipe has been making classical and flamenco guitars for forty-four years and is well known for his instrument building skills. His guitars are considered among the best and stand along side the most famous and sought after guitars in Spain; Donongo, Estero, Santos Hernandez, Miguel Rodrigez and Romanillos. He makes guitars from the reknown area of Paracho, Michoacan: The Guitar Capitol of Mexico. He is a bit of a legend in the guitar making world. Years ago, he had a workshop in Los Angelos but decided to move back to his native Paracho to continue building custom guitars.  He was one of the early luthiers who made a guitar making teaching video to offer his construction techniques to upcoming professional guitar makers. Today, he sends many of his guitars to the European classical and flamenco market. In internet gossip, guitarists are always looking for and talking about his guitars. It is unique opportunity for us to bring this master guitar builder here from Mexico.  

So here is a real opportunity to learn about the instrument from the inside-out from a consummate artist.  For two weeks we are going to turn Calvo Woodworking School into a Guitar Making School. You will learn from one of the best guitar makers as you make your own classical or flamenco guitar. Benito will teach you all phases guitar making with all the elements of construction addressed.
